Mission Statement
To provide a center of excellence in surveying and mapping, to meet the needs of Swaziland.
Objectives
- To provide a high standard of advice to government departments and others on all surveying and mapping matters.
- To fulfil efficiently all statutory requirements to supervise and control surveys of land for registration purposes.
- To provide surveying services to the Swaziland Government to effectively support the development and management of its land.
- To maintain and make available accurate and up-to-date mapping services to meet the needs of the nation.
- To maintain the survey control frameworks of Swaziland which underpin the development of the nation.
- To educate customers, landowners and the general public about the activity of the Surveyor General's Department.
- To develop the knowledge and skills of staff to ensure that the Surveyor General's Department provides high quality products and services at all times.
The department has three main sections namely:
1.Surveying
This section deals with:
- The maintenance of the Triginometric network.
- Examination and approval of cadastral surveys from private surveyors.
- All cadastral surveys on government land.
- Topographic surveys.
2. Mapping
- Production of topographic maps at various scales
3. Information and Services
- Maintenance of all survey records.
- Outlet of all products of the department.
